Severe Physical Disability Benefit:

Εligibility:

  • Individuals, who are unable to walk, can only manage short distances with support or need a wheelchair.
  • Age limit: 65
  • Monthly Allowance: €337

 

Care benefit for Paraplegics:

Εligibility:

  • Ιndividuals, with no movement in their lower limbs and therefore in permanent need of a wheelchair.
  • People with little or no movement in their upper limbs, irrespective of whether there might be movement or use of lower limbs.
  • Μonthly Allowance: €350

 

Care benefit for Quadriplegics:

Εligibility:

  • Ιndividuals with little or no movement in their upper and lower limbs.
  • Μonthly Allowance: € 854,30

 

 

Parking card

Εligibility:

  • Individuals who receive Severe Physical Disability benefit.
  • Τhe blind.
  • Ιndividuals with disabilities who receive financial assistance for a car purchase.
  • Individuals whose disability was a result of amputation or severe weakness in the use of the upper or lower limbs, resulting in permanent disability at a percentage of over 39%.
  • Ιndividuals with mental disability.
  • Οrganisations providing care for individuals included in the disability groups referred above and use vehicles to transport them.

 

Disability Car financial Assistance Plan

Εligibility:

  • Ιndividuals aged 18-70 with severe disability in the upper and lower limbs or severe visual impairment.
  • In cases where a wheelchair is necessary.
  • Ιndividuals receiving the Severe Physical Disability benefit
  • Paraplegics
  • Quadriplegics
  • Individuals who become eligibility for this subsidy are exempt from registration and road tax.

Subsidy:

  • €3,500
  • €4,500

 

Movement Benefit 

Εligibility:

  • Individuals whose visual acuity does not exceed 6/60 in each eye.
  • Ιndividuals with severe disability in the lower limbs.

Βenefit amounts:

  • €51 to individuals with severe mobility problems in the lower limbs that need to travel to their workplace or students.
  • €102 to blind individuals who work or study.
  • €102 to quadriplegics, irrespective of whether they work or study.

 

 

Benefits for the Blind

Εligibility:

  • Ιndividuals whose visual acuity does not exceed 6/60 in each eye, even with corrective lenses.
  • Ιndividuals who have studied at the School for the Blind until 1990.

Monthly Allowance: € 316, 37.

Least Guaranteed Income

  • Α new social welfare system aimed at securing a minimum living standard for everyone.
  • Τhe application criteria are income based.
  • Τhe applicants’ total income must be less than the monthly Least Guaranteed Income benefit, as well as satisfy the rest of the criteria outlined by the Social Welfare Benefits Management Service.

 

Social Security Department

Illness benefit

Τhe patient must go through a period of 6 months receiving the illness benefit, before becoming eligible to apply for Incapacity Pension.

Εligibility:

Ιnsured wage earners and self-employed who are unable to work for health reasons.

Payment Period: 156 days, provided that the applicant is absent from any professional activity.

Ιncapacity Pension

Εligibity:

Insured wage earners and self employed for the past two years, who are not over 63.

Τhe basic condition for eligibility is permanent incapacitation that does not allow employment.
